Quantitative Research Tools
We recommend our quantitative research services when a client wants to understand general views across a broad population, or to explore relationships between and across various groups. Our services include custom surveys (by phone, by mail or online and regular omnibus surveys).
We also offer a variety syndicated reports which cover Ontario public affairs issues, national public affairs issues, Aboriginal issues as well as NIMBYism and locally unwanted land uses. We offer a wide range of services in terms of multivariate analysis, including regression, cluster analysis, factor analysis and discriminate analysis. Our data analysts have extensive training and are up-to-date on the latest methodologies.
Custom Surveys
We offer strategic public opinion surveys custom-made to suit our clients’ needs. We have access to a variety of populations, ranging from the general public to very specific and hard-to-reach groups. We evaluate an issue, collect opinions on the issue and identify key factors driving those opinions.
We also often assess the impact of potential messages to move opinion in a desired direction. We use a variety of methods to conduct custom surveys, depending on a client’s specific needs.
Telephone
We use phone surveys when a client needs results from a large sample quickly. Our phone surveys are a good tool for meeting desired quota sizes for a targeted group, and have a high success rate in predicting opinions of the general population.
Online Surveys
Online surveys are useful when determining general values from specific populations in a very short time frame. They also have great potential for cost savings to the client, when used properly.
The quality of data we can obtain online from respondents over time also has the potential to be better, as we are able to gather a wealth of data on each respondent that we just can’t get through an omnibus survey or over the phone. This means that we don’t need to waste time and money asking people for answers to questions we already know, like whether they voted in the last election, and which political party they voted for. Over time, we will know how people act politically and how they feel on a wide range of issues. This information allows us to probe deeper into issues in an efficient and cost effective way.
Mail-out Surveys
Mail-out surveys are also an option for client research that allows for a longer response time. We recommend using mail-out surveys to reach groups that have special expertise in a certain area. We have used mail-out surveys in the past to gather opinions and data from doctors and those professionals who are difficult to reach by phone. While we contract out the mail out process, we manage the distribution and all responses are returned directly to INNOVATIVE for inputting.
Omnibus Surveys
Our clients have access to omnibus surveys when they want to ask a limited number of very specific questions to the general population in a cost-effective manner. We offer this service weekly through an online survey and on a monthly basis for reaching an Ontario audience:
- Canada 20/20™ Online National Omnibus: n=1,000 weekly
- Ontario Telephone Omnibus: n=600 monthly
- Chinese Omnibus (Metro Vancouver): client-driven
- Punjabi Omnibus (British Columbia): varies based on client requirements
